The Tasting
 Franc-ly
my dear, we are fans of this rather finicky and definitely
unique grape. Whether part of a blend or shining on its own,
Cabernet Franc is a noble grape. Because of our mutual affection
for it, we held our annual celebration – FrancFest!
Those of us who grow and/or vinify Cabernet Franc gathered
for an afternoon of all things Franc with a casual tasting
of Cabernet Francs from Central Coast producers.
The Tasting
was held beside the vineyard pond and was
a relaxing and tasty afternoon. We tasted Cabernet Franc wines
and blends containing
Cabernet Franc from twenty wineries, accompanied
by grilled appetizers and serenaded by live music from Ray
Fortune.
Guests received a crystal
Bordeaux glass for the tasting, which they took
home to enjoy
with their favorite Cabernet Franc wines.
 Ray Fortune - Musician
Ray Fortune has been writing and recording music
for the last 15 years. While playing in several successful
bands
in
Santa
Barbara and Orange County, Ray always keeps an acoustic guitar
and a studio close at hand. He now lives in Santa
Ynez Valley and last year released his latest album
That Was Very Big Of Me. Ray is also a member of
the hot new band Wil
Ridge.
Land Trust for Santa Barbara County  Because
farming and agriculture is what we do, proceeds from the day
will benefit the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County,
which works to preserve and enhance our county’s natural
open spaces and agricultural heritage for to present and future
generations.
